| Pick up is made directly at your hotel between 7:30 am and 9:00 am in our comfortable 20 passenger trucks with experienced drivers and official tour guides. |
| We begin our excursion on a Western route towards Cofresi, where our first stop will be the mangroves where the guide will give a brief description of this landmark and the importance to our coastline. Here the first welcome drink is offered. |
| We continue on our trek along the coast passing local public schools and fishing villages until we reach Bahia de Maimon. Here a brief explanation of the history of this area is given. |
| A short distance away, a brief stop at a local school where Puerto Plata Runners will be donating from sales of hats and t-shirts. Clients will be allowed only on the outside of school property and the guide will explain about our education system and also the importance of baseball in the Dominican Republic. |
We continue through a rugged, mountain road with an amazing view of Puerto Plata about 110 meters above sea level. Witness the variety of ecosystems - from palm trees to majestic mango trees to prickly cactus'. Stop at a typical country home where you can interact with the family living here and have the opportunity to witness the culture and way of life of the local people. Bathroom facilities are available here. Coffee made from their locally grown beans will be offered. |
| Drive through the small communities of Palo Indio and El Toro until we reach Playa Gusmancito, where we stop and have the opportunity to catch a wave on a moray boogie board on this lovely and remote beach or just relax while sipping "Cuba Libre" or sunbath, all to the soothing sound of nature. |
| From this exciting stop we now make our way to our Puerto Plata Runners Beach Ranch located on a lovely beach with abundant sea life. Watch as local fishermen bring in their catch of the day. Feast on a scrumptious and abundant buffet. Optional horseback riding along the coast line is a great opportunity for those who have never gone riding before. |
| After our exhilarating time at the Ranch, we continue through this beautiful mountain range and make a stop at a local Rum Shack where you can purchase local goods at local prices. |
| Our second last stop is a visit to a small cigar factory where guests are encouraged to try the products or buy cigars at a very good price. Selected participants will have the chance to make their own cigar - in the tradition of the Dominicans that has been used for hundreds of years. |
| Our last stop will be at another lovely beach area Teco, where you can sample fresh exotic Caribbean fruits. |
| After an adventurous and informative day we return to hotels. |
