Briefly:

  • We will visit Guzmancito.  Study its extensive mangrove system, and witness its importance in the conservation of the shore’s coastlines.
  • Stopover at one of the local schools we sponsor.  A rewarding experience; overcome cultural barriers and, for a brief moment, take center stage in the classroom, becoming an active participant in the educational process of young Dominican children.
  • Making our way across Maimón Bay, revisit the area’s most significant historical data.  Cutting across a treacherous mountain path, delight in awe-inspiring vistas of the city of Puerto Plata at an altitude of 110 meters above sea level.
  • Examine differing ecosystems, from bewildering palm trees to exotic mango trees, as well as thorny cactus scrub.  As a genuine gesture of Dominican hospitality, a typical family will welcome you into their home.  Exult in a newfound love for their culture.
  • Cruising across  the communities of Palo Indio and El Toro, we will stop at Guzmancito Beach.  Its dazzling shoreline is engulfed around a tranquil atmosphere, where the climatological conditions are favorable for the practice of water sports.
Dare to ride a wave standing on a boogie board.  You may also set off to gallop in a passionate horseback ride amidst sun-kissed shorelines.
  • Upon our return to Puerto Plata Runners Beach Ranch, surrounded by breathless landscapes en route to a fishermen’s village, we will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch.
  • We will tour Rum Shack, travelling transversely mountain chains.  Taste the finest Dominican rum.  Stroll through a cigar factory.  Drink a refreshing Coco Loco at a local establishment.

Fall in love with the Bride of the Atlantic.   Lose yourself in country alleyways, each leading crosswise a coveted wildlife.
Its horizons have no boundaries in the midst of golden and white sand, crystal-clear turquoise water beaches; thick woodland foliage and unenviable culture.  Every twist and turn represents an awesome opportunity to snap memorable photographs.
One of our safari-style trucks will come for you and, taken by the hand of an experienced tourist guide, you will encounter the innermost spaces of a tropical paradise

Taking a westerly turn, we arrive at Guzmancito.  An extensive mangrove system has come to be refuge for thousands of amphibians and an exotic birdlife.  Its conservation is paramount for the preservation of its coastlines, becoming an ecosystem habituated by trees ingrained on the banks of the river.

We will approach Maimón Bay, located 24 kilometers from Puerto Plata.  Of tremendous value, not only because of its natural value, but its cultural heritage, is considered as a Natural Monument.  Come and examine what lies beneath this deserted beach

Enthralling rugged mountain paths delight visitors with their stark white perspectives of a city overshadowed by its romanticism, Victorian-era architecture and ineffable natural beauty
Hovering above 110 meters above sea level, impeccably-chiseled portraits are unveiled before your eyes.

Witness contrasting environments; from the giddiness of swaying palm trees to the driest desert-like unwelcoming surroundings, brimming with thorny cactus.

A typical Dominican family will take you under their wings for a brief interlude.  Share life experiences, and observe firsthand the virtues of country life and farmland customs
Savor a heartwarming cup of freshly-brewed coffee; their beans were sun-dried prior to being grinded.  Chocoholics are in for a real treat, they will be welcomed to a cup of rich hot chocolate, made with the finest Dominican cocoa.
Fresh fruit wedges will be laid out, a sensorial delight for the senses and taste buds.  Long considered as an aphrodisiac by many, it is widely believed “Mama Juana” has mystical properties.  Are you daring enough to drink from the cup?

Travelling through the communities of Palo Indio and El Toro we come across Guzmancito Beach.  Its idyllic weather conditions are adequate for the practice of water sports.  Envision yourself riding a mammoth wave on a boogie board.
Pristine white sand and crystal-clear turquoise water is the setting par excellence for sunbathing under the warm Caribbean sun and the sampling of a refreshing Cuba Libre.

We welcome you to gallop crossways, from coast to coast.  Sense an unambiguous state of freedom as the subdued Caribbean breeze ruffles your hair.  An adventure for the experienced horseback rider, as the novice alike.

We will return to Runners Adventures Beach Ranch, overlooking a lush, secluded beach.  As commercial fishery fuels the local economy, harpoons and fishing nets have become part of the décor.

Feast on a succulent typical buffet-style lunch especially prepared in your honor.  Continuing our path throughout this mountain range landscape, we arrive at the Rum Shack, distribution center for the finest Dominican rum.  Don’t miss out on the opportunity to purchase a few bottles for your welcome home party.

Visit a quaint handicraft workshop, watch as master artisans manufacture the world’s finest cigars.  If you are amongst the chosen ones, you will undertake the task of crafting your own cigar by hand.  Afterwards, be prepared to rummage their inventory; bring your buddies back home a box or two of the world’s best cigars.

Before heading back to our hotel, we stop at Mario’s to unwind and share travel experience with other guests.  Quench your thirst with a revitalizing Coco Loco.  An emblem of the region, it’s a beverage made with coconut water, rum and a slice of lemon; simply delicious.
