This
tour is especially designed for cruise ship passengers arriving
at the La Romana Port and for those hotels guest who don’t
want to spend a full day away from the beach but yet want to
experience the Dominican people, culture and shopping priced
for locals.
This cultural adventure takes you on a sightseeing tour of the
city of La Romana and its surroundings in comfortable “safari-style”
open-top trucks. See and feel the lifestyle and friendliness
of the local people, visit the largest sugar cane plantation
in the country where you can taste freshly cut sugar cane and
learn about this amazing industry. Then, sightsee the largest
collection of orchids and cactus in the Dominican Republic.
From there, visit a cigar factory where you will see the world-renowned
Dominican cigars being made. For souvenirs, we will be taken
to a gift shop where you are greeted with a Mama Juana Welcome
Drink, sample fresh exotic fruit, browse around and shop for
approx 45 min. before returning to the pier.

the Romana Cigar Factory where you can purchase at the source
authentic Dominican handmade cigars.
Drive
through the city of La Romana, site of the largest sugar cane
mill in the world, with many photo ops.
Visit
the largest plant nursery in the Caribbean where you will see first hand thousands of orquids and other exotic tropical vegetation.
Gift shop visit is included.
Return
to port or hotel.
To
Bring: Sunscreen, comfortable shoes, camera,
hat and cash for souvenir in either pesos or dollars.
To fully participate leisurely walking is required over primarily
even surfaces. There may be a limited number of steps, a minimal
amount of cobblestones or uneven surfaces, and some standing
for extended periods of time.
